Australian-made Bio-Boost Fertiliser offers proven alternative as global supply chains remain unstable

With three decades of sustainable farming results behind it, Verdyn’s Bio-Boost liquid fertiliser range offers Australian farmers consistent local supply, reduced input costs and whole-farm performance independent of global shipping disruptions.

Ongoing disruptions to fertiliser shipping from the Middle East has Australian growers no longer able to rely on these supply chains. These delays are hitting right at the start of critical growing seasons.

“We’ve had farmers call us after being told their fertiliser order is delayed six to eight week, right when they needed it most,” said Verdyn director, Paul Cox.

“That’s not a position any producer should be in.

“Bio-Boost is available now, it’s Australian-made, it’s sustainable and it’s been delivering results on farms across this country for 30 years.”

Disruptions to shipping routes through Strait of Hormuz have driven up prices and created significant delivery delays for imported urea, MAP, and DAP.

For farmers working to tight seasonal windows, waiting isn’t an option and paying more for late delivery compounds the damage.

Bio-Boost sidesteps the problem entirely.

Both products are available direct through Verdyn, applied at rates as low as five litres per hectare, and suited to a single-pass program combining NPK and Cal/Mag in the same mix.

What Bio-Boost does differently

Bio-Boost NPK Foliar Spray works systemically within seconds of application bypassing soil lockup and delivering nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and trace elements directly through the leaf.

It accelerates pasture recovery after grazing and lifts production on deficient soils without waiting for ground-applied fertiliser to move through the profile.

Bio-Boost Cal/Mag 5:1 addresses calcium and magnesium deficiencies using a unique 5:1 ratio sourced from concentrated sea minerals.

Its highly soluble calcium rapidly displaces sodium from the root zone, while the stabilised ammonia nitrogen outperforms urea in sandy soils, keeping nutrients in the root zone where crops and pastures can use them.

For pastures, the magnesium component increases leaf width significantly, effectively doubling feed volume from the same paddock without increasing height.

Ann-Marie and Daniel Barrow run a 400-head Angus stud at Merlewood Angus in Mirboo North, South Gippsland, country where genetics investment is significant and pasture performance is non-negotiable.

“Three years ago, with guidance from Paul, we introduced a mineralisation program using Megatrace liquid mineral supplement through our water supply, along with two to three annual applications of BioBoost NPK and BioBoost Cal/Mag,” the Barrows said.

“Aside from a small amount of starter fertiliser when sowing grass seed, no other fertiliser is used.

“We’ve seen clear improvements in plant density, higher brix levels in our grasses, and paddocks recovering faster after grazing.

“We’ve also had no vet bills for two years, no pink eye in the cattle, and the herd is noticeably more settled.

“It’s a no-brainer for us.”
