This Gippsland dairy had a problem that couldn't be ignored. The effluent pond surface was buried under a thick, hard crust with established grass growing across almost the entire area. The delivery pipe was blocking repeatedly and the smell severe. A sludge probe confirmed years of accumulated waste as the pond hadn't been managed in three years.
